The Golden Girls is an American sitcom that originally aired on NBC from September 14, 1985, to May 9, 1992. Starring Beatrice Arthur, Betty White, Rue McClanahan and Estelle Getty, the show centers on four older women sharing a Miami, Florida home. The series was produced by Touchstone Pictures and distributed by Buena Vista Television, both subsidiaries of The Walt Disney Company.

The sitcom was originally conceived by NBC executive Brandon Tartikoff and created by Susan Harris. Tartikoff was visiting his elderly aunt one day, and saw how she and her next-door neighbor, who also was her best friend, interacted with each other. Despite their constant bickering and arguments, they were still the best of friends, and loved each other. He thought that would make a great premise for a TV show.
The Golden Girls won several awards, including the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Comedy Series twice. All four stars won at least one Emmy Award throughout the series' entire run.

Gummi Bears

Gummi Bears - September 1985 to September 1991

Disney's Adventures of the Gummi Bears is an American animated television series that aired in the United States in the mid-1980s through the early 1990s. The series was the first animated production by Walt Disney Animation Television, and loosely inspired by the gummi bear candies; Disney CEO Michael Eisner was struck with inspiration for the show when his son requested the candies one day. The series premiered on NBC on September 14, 1985, and aired there for four seasons. The series moved to ABC for one season from 1989–1990, and concluded on September 6, 1991 as part of the Disney Afternoon television syndication package. Of the series' 65 shows, 30 were double-features, consisting of two 11-minute cartoons, thereby bringing the series total to 95 distinct episodes overall. The show is well-remembered for its theme music, written by Michael and Patty Silversher.

The series was later rebroadcast on the syndicated Disney Afternoon block, and rerun on the Disney Afternoon through the summer of 1991. In later years, it was shown on the Disney Channel and Toon Disney, with its most recent televised airing occurring on Toon Disney on December 28, 2001. Seasons 1 to 3 of the series were released on DVD on November 14, 2006.

Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors

Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors - September 1985 to May 1986

Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors is a French/North American animated TV show which first aired on September 16, 1985. It was produced by DIC Entertainment (originally distributed for syndication by SFM Entertainment), and animated by Japanese animation studios Sunrise, Shaft, Studio Giants, Studio Look and Swan Production. The show, which spawned 65 thirty-minute episodes, was created to support Mattel's toy line (which was called simply, "Wheeled Warriors"). The show features an ongoing plot; however, like many shows made at the time, it does not have a series finale, and thus the plot was left unresolved.

The show featured two duelling forces. The "good guys" are humans, called the Lightning League. They drive white and silver vehicles with assorted weaponry, and are led by Jayce. The "bad guys" are organic greenvegetable-based creatures called the Monster Minds, who tend to take the shape of black and green vehicles. They travel via large green organic vines which can grow in and across interstellar space, and sprout seeds that rapidly grow into further Monster Minds. They are led by Saw Boss.

Thundercats

Thundercats - January 1985 to December 1986

ThunderCats is an American animated series based on a group of cat-like humanoid aliens. The show was created by Tobin "Ted" Wolf and animated by Japanese animation studio, Pacific Animation Corporation. The characters were originally featured in an animated TV series named ThunderCats, running from 1985 to 1989.

The original ThunderCats show was animated in Japan while being produced, written and voice-acted in the United States. Many of the animators went on to work for Studio Ghibli, working on Hayao Miyazaki's first film.^[1] The series was originally distributed by Rankin-Bass Productions' then-parent company Telepictures Corporation, which would later merge with Lorimar Productions in 1986.^[2] In 1989, Lorimar-Telepictures was purchased by and folded into Warner Bros., whose television syndication arm would eventually assume distribution of the show; Warner Bros. has had the rights to the series (and all Lorimar-Telepictures programming) from that point on.

The Tripods

The Tripods -  September 15, 1984 – November 23, 1985

Set in the year 2089, huge machines known as Tripods have take over earth. Controlling humans with a 'cap' (A mind control device in-planted on the head at the age of fourteen) which erases imagination, curiosity and independent thought, mankind now lives without technology in a rural/medieval existence.

Cousins Will and Henry Parker only a year away from being 'capped' hear of a place where free (un-capped) men live and fight the Tripods.

Their travel take them from their home in England to France where they meet Jean-Paul'Beanpole'Deliet who joins them on their journey to the white mountains of the Alps, home of the free men.

Transformers

Transformers - September 1984 to November 1987

The Transformers is an American animated television series depicting a war between giant robots who could transform into vehicles, animals, and other objects. Written and recorded in America, and produced for American audiences, the series was animated in Japan and South Korea, and was based upon the line of transforming toys originally created by Japanese toy manufacturer Takara, which were developed into the Transformers line by American company Hasbro.

In Japan, the series was called Tatakae! Cho Robot Seimeitai Transformer. In response to the 1993 relaunch of the toyline and its accompanying comic being called Transformers: Generation 2, this series and its comic book parallel are frequently referred to by the retronym, Transformers: Generation 1 - initially a fan-coined term that has since made its way into official use.

Heathcliff

Heathcliff - September 1984 to May 1987

Heathcliff and the Catillac Cats was a popular cartoon loved by many. Heathcliff was a big orange striped cat who went around his neighborhood playing practical jokes on a lot of people. He tormented his owner, Grandpa, but was friendly to Grandma, and Iggy Nutmeg. When he wasn't stealing fish from the fish market, he was out on a romantic evening with his girlfriend Sonja, or outsmarting the neighbor's bulldog Spike.

Heathcliff got his start as a comic strip in the newspaper. He was created by George Gately and the strip continues to this day. Check out the links section to see where you can read the Heathcliff comic strip online.

Even though Heathcliff has been in a few different Saturday morning cartoons, this page focuses on the Monday through Friday syndicated cartoon from 1984 by DiC Entertainment. Each half hour show consists of two 11 minute episodes, and a minute long "pet tips" segment at the end of the show. The first episode stars Heathcliff and the second episode was Cats and Co. about a gang of cats named the Catillac Cats. Although both episodes take place in the town of Westfinster, Heathcliff and family never appeared in the Cats and Co. episodes, and Riff Raff and Cleo never appeared in a Heathcliff episode.

The Catillac Cats starred Riff Raff, a short cat who had a tall girlfriend named Cleo, and a Cadillac car that could change into anything. Riff Raff's friends included Hector, a Himalayan cat who felt that he should be the boss of the gang, not Riff Raff. Wordsworth was a white cat who wore headphone and rollar skates and usually spoke in rhyme, and Mungo, a big dumb purple cat. A dog lived in the junkyard named Leroy, who felt the cats shouldn't live in the junkyard, and was often trying to chase them out. Cleo lived in a music store with a hairy sheepdog named Bush.
